Sherri Lynn Emmons Graham
Born January 28, 1952. Went home to be with the Lord May 5, 2025
Sherri Lynn Emmons Graham of Springfield, Louisiana peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 5, 2025 at the age of 73, following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.
She is survived by her daughters Carmen Lout and Jaime Bloch + husband Jeffrey Bloch, her father Nemesio Gonzalez, and her sister Sharon Greene + husband David Greene. Her daughters, sister, and their families were able to be with her in her final days, bringing her peace and comfort.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Roger Dale Graham, her mother Beatrice Emmons, and her grandparents Virgil + Edith Emmons who adopted her as a baby following the passing of her mother in a tragic automobile accident.
Sherri loved her husband Roger, and often fished and prepared delicious meals with him. She was a huge dog lover, and deeply mourned the recent passing of her close K9 companion Friend. She loved working in her yard, and talking with her friends about her children. She was proud of their accomplishments, and loved going to see her son-in- law race in various automotive competitions. She always cheered the loudest when she did so, and you could even hear her above the sound of roaring engines! She loved the abundant wildlife around her home, and while she relished the fresh game that Roger regularly brought home, she also had a soft spot for animals. When Roger brought home a giant live alligator snapping turtle that weighed approximately 85 pounds and announced his intention of making turtle soup, she dissented. He was adamant that his rare catch would be dinner, so when he wasn’t in view, she herded the dangerous prehistoric reptile into a large trash can, and quickly transported it to the nearby river. Roger wasn’t thrilled, but Sherri was happy to have saved the approximately 85 year-old turtle (they grow about a pound a year, and are believed capable of living up to 200 years).
Sherri was loved and will be missed by her family, friends, and neighbors.
