Jacques J Major, “Sonny”, “Piny”, “Papa” passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on May 15, 2025 at the age of 93. He was born May 5, 1932 in New Roads, La to Jacques and Isabel Major.

Preceded in death by his wife Delma Pugh Major of 54 years and partner Connie Bea Pendarvis of 15 years.

He is survived by his children Gregory Randall Major (Brenda), Robin Major Vincent (Chip) and John Rhett Major (Cristina). Extended family Damon Pendarvis, Leisa Pendarvis. Grandchildren Ashlyn Major, Devin Major, Randi Major Moser (Avery), Ashlyn Martin, Jacques Newsom (Hayley), Conley Leslie (Roxanne), Dallas Leslie, Laynee Leslie, Kaylea Weatherford (Dalton), Mason Pendarvis, Ana Carolina Major, Mariana Major and Gustavo Major. Great grandchildren Jenna, Luca, Jett, Colton, Wyatt, Kasen, Honey, Jones, Cash and Shepherd.
He served four years in the Air Force and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant. He was a pilot and aircraft owner. He was the founder and co-owner of C&M Propellor Repair in Denham Springs, LA. He was a Welding Engineer for Engineered Casting Repair Service, Ohmstede, Inc., Delta Southern Company, Spiral Pipe Manufacturing Co., and Armco Steel Fabrication Company. He was a Certified Welding Inspector, served on the Industrial Advisory Board at Baton Rouge Technical College, Vice Chairman and Program Director for American Welding Society and was a Welding Metallurgist. He was the Engineer Consultant for Gaylord Paper Company, International Paper Company, Canal Barge Company, Metalock Engineering Company, Vulcan Chemical Company, Allied Chemical Company, Union Texas Petroleum, Partco, Condea Vista Chemical Company and International Gas Transmission Company. He was owner/operator of Alloy Welding Services in Denham Springs, LA from 1978 to 2020. He was an avid Harley Davidson owner and rider, loved to rock his grandbabies, an amazing dancer and loved his family and life.
We want to say a very special thank you to our caregivers Sheila Robertson, Anna Marshall and to Pinnacle Hospice.
Services to be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, LA. Visitation Friday May 23, 2025 from 5pm to 8pm and Saturday May 24, 2025 from 10am with services starting at 12pm with Reverend Marion Lamm officiating. Burial will follow at Seale Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Curtis Ingram, Greg Toney, Devin Major, Chip Vincent, Damon Pendarvis, Jacques Newsom and Mason Pendarvis. Honorary Pallbearers will be  Bobby Fruge, Ricky Vincent, Sam Kaiser, Jimmy Summers, Al Comeaux, Dalton Weatherford, Conley Leslie and Bryce Robertson.

    Lost touch through the years, but so glad I got to reminisce with him a few months ago at Randy’s… He certainly lived a full life….(we were 2nd cousins, related on the Chenevert side)

    Robin, sorry to hear of the death of your father. You know he is in a better place and is happy to be reunited with your mother. I know you will miss him. I pray God will comfort you and your family.
