Barron Paul Corie, 55, of St. Francisville, Louisiana, passed away on May 24, 2025, very unexpectedly.
Barron was a man of quiet strength and deep, unwavering faith. He loved the Lord with all his heart and lived every day with a servant’s spirit. Whether he was lending a hand to a neighbor, supporting his family, or working diligently in the insulation industry as a purchasing agent, Barron gave his best with humility, grace, and joy.
He is survived by his soulmate, best friend, and wife of 31 years, Jancie Rowell Corie; his sons, Brennen and William Corie; his daughter, Addison Corie; his parents, Patricia and Harley Corie; his brother, Craig (Cindy) Corie; his sister, Tricia (Darryl) Rains; his mother and father-in-law, Jerrine and Dave Rowell; his sisters-in-law, Mika (Michael) LaBorde and Morgan Samaha; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
He was a devoted husband, a proud and loving father, a caring son and brother, and a faithful friend to many.
Barron’s faith wasn’t just something he talked about, it was something he lived. He walked closely with Christ and found joy in small acts of service that reflected his love for God and people, such as singing in the “His People” gospel choir as a teenager, serving in widow ministry, hospital visitation, and cutting grass for those in need.
His life was rooted in Scripture, particularly the words of 2 Timothy 3:16–17:
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
Barron took these words to heart. He studied the Word, shared it with his family, and lived it out daily, always striving to be equipped for whatever good work God placed in his path.
His final act on this earth, helping a neighbor with a smile, was not out of the ordinary for Barron. That was who he was: a steady presence, a joyful giver, and a man whose legacy will live on through the lives he touched, the prayers he prayed, and the family he loved so well.
To know Barron was to know kindness, faithfulness, and joy. He didn’t seek recognition, he just showed up and was a silent contributor. He did it with a quiet confidence that came from knowing who he was in Christ. Barron loved a good story that would make others laugh.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a service to follow at 12:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Zachary, 4200 Main Street, Zachary, LA 70791. All are welcome to join in honoring Barron by celebrating the life of a man who walked humbly, loved deeply, and finished his race well. Bright colors are requested to be worn at his celebration of life.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. Although I didn’t know Barron personally, I always enjoyed our interactions in the Foamglas insulation business. His kindness and thoroughness left a lasting impression on me. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with Barron’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. May you find comfort and strength in the cherished memories you shared with him.

Sometimes finding the right words is just too difficult. Kim and I join you in mourning the loss of our buddy. We have so many wonderful memories of laughing with and sometimes at you both. Attending church and singing in the choir. From many cookouts from your back porch to sunset chats at False River. Long conversations lasting into the wee hours to Financial Peace under you and Barron’s “been there/done that” delivery but always funny stories. He was a man among men. Always a quick ear to hear. He was a man of few words until you got him going. We will always treasure our times together and please know you’ve got a place in North Carolina if you need to journey our direction. Know also that our hearts are broken in a way that only time will heal if ever. We pray that our Lord and Savior will give you peace and the rest assuredness that we get to see him again. God just needed him a little sooner than any of us would have liked. He’s probably up there even now helping in some of those beautiful gardens. Our love and prayers for you and Brennen, Will and Addie now and in the days to come.

So sorry for your loss. I was fortunate to have worked with Mr. Barron. He was always nice, polite and most of all respectful.
A great loss on everyone’s loss. He will definitely be missed.

Remembering you & your family in my prayers Jancie. For as long as I’ve known you you’ve always had a smile on your face when talking about Barron. I could easily tell he was your “person”
He was a great example of how we all should live & love. If I don’t see you Saturday just know I’ll be praying. I have an upcoming procedure and I’m having to stay close to home. Hugs to you & yours.
