Charles O. Miller

Charles Octavious Miller passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 18, 2025. He was born on March 20, 1939 to Cecil R. Miller and Oda Mae Bankston Miller in Baton Rouge. He graduated from Woodlawn High School where he was the Star Basketball Player. Charles graduated from LSU with a drafting degree. He went on to serve 8 years with the US Coast Guard on a Navy ship on the East Coast off of New Jersey. He returned to work as a salesman for Stanley Co. selling cleaning products door to door where he met the love of his life Connie (Neptune) in 1961. They dated 4 years and then married in 1965. After their marriage he went to work at Exxon Chemical Plant in Baton Rouge, LA for 30 years where he retired.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Connie S. (Neptune) Miller; two children, Renee Miller Zakrzewski (Duane) of Southbury, Connecticut and Michael Miller (Charlette) of Gonzales, Louisiana; 8 grandchildren; Jessica (Freitas) Megargle, Joshua Freitas, Jared Freitas, Julie (Freitas)Tortorelli, Drake Miller, Bryant Miller, Isabella Zakrzewski, and Alyssa Miller; 10 great grandchildren, Evan Tortorelli, Owen Megargle, Nathaniel Tortorelli, Luke Miller, Aubrey Megargle, Benjamin Tortorelli, Caleb Megargle, Zenlyra Freitas, Anna Megargle, and Jason Tortorelli; and 10 nieces and nephews.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil R. Miller and Oda Mae Bankston Miller; brothers, Norman Ray Miller, Ernest Leon Miller, a sister Wilma Frances and a baby brother.
Pallbearers are Michael Miller, Drake Miller, Jared Freitas, Bryant Miller, Joshua Freitas and Duane Zakrzewski.
In lieu of flowers, family is requesting donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 9:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM with the graveside to follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
