Sylvia Jean Browning Carroll

Sylvia Jean Browning Carroll, 80, of Greenwell Springs, Louisiana, went to be with the Lord Monday, June 23, 2025. She was a lifelong resident of Greenwell Springs and graduated from Central High School. She thenworked as a beautician for a few years, but she loved her 32 years as a school bus driver and loved each of her students. Sylvia was a longtime member of Comite and Fellowship Baptist churches. Her family was her focus and she loved to play with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a loving, joyful and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Fannie Browning; in-laws, Ivy and Jannie Carroll; sister, Ethel Jenkins; and brother, Doug Browning.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ivy Douglas Carroll Jr; daughters, Kristie Carroll Chauvin (Eric), Shannon Carroll Swearingen (Richard); son, Gawain E. Carroll; grandchildren, Jaide Carroll Holmes (Nathan), Sydney Chauvin Clough (Chase), Joey D. Carroll, Clay D. Carroll (Victoria), Madison Swearingen Lee (Gage), Jeffrey Swearingen, and Noah Chauvin; great-grandchildren, Camden Holmes, Cash Holmes, Edward Clough, and Timothy Clough; sisters, Roxie Lipport, Jenny Womack, Nancy Adams, and Brenda Jenkins; brothers, Maurice Browning, and Kenneth Browning; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church, Central, Friday, June 27, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will resume Saturday, June 28, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m., officiated by Rev. Mardy Guidry. Burial will follow at New Red Oak Cemetery, Livingston, Louisiana.
Pallbearers will be Joey Carroll, Clay Chauvin, Noah Chauvin, Chase Clough, Nathan Holmes, Gage, Lee, and Jeffrey Swearingen.
