Frances Brumfield Bennett, 82 passed away on January 17, 2023 in Baton Rouge, LA.  She was a native of Greensburg, Louisiana, born on February 16, 1940.  She was a graduate of Greensburg High School, Class of 1957, and the salutatorian of her class.   Frances was always inspired by her mother, Gracie, who always gave to others.  Frances was known for her prolific and tireless volunteering and leadership service with many charitable organizations, including Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area, Mental Health Association, Friendship Force, Women’s Council, Cancer Services of Baton Rouge, the International Hospitality Foundation, Dreams Come True, and Families Helping Families, among many others.   She also volunteered her talents to Louisiana Public Broadcasting, Visit Baton Rouge, and served as an usher for Theater Baton Rouge.   For her many years of service, she was honored with the prestigious Golden Deeds Award in 2008.  She also received the Blue Cross Blue Shield Angel Award, together with her husband Charles, as well as the Volunteer Activists Award from the Baton Rouge Speech and Hearing Foundation, in addition to many other awards for her community service.  She loved her family and traveling the world with her husband, Charles.

She is survived by her three children, Cindy Franz (Ken), Jeff Gros (Karen), and Susan Gros, grandchildren Jennifer Ramezan (Jonathan), Jeffrey Wale, Chelsea Cruse, Jacob Cruse (Haylee, along with their children Cory and Hunter Grace), Amy Hebert (Joey), Amber Finch, Angela Finch (Mike), Abbie Roberts (Cody), and Anna Manchester (Sam), and numerous great-grandchildren, cousins, nephews, and nieces, and her sisters, Rita Clayton and Hilda Ross.   She is also survived by her stepchildren Gregory (Nan), Bethany (Nick) Carter, and Jeffry (Nancy), grandchildren, Rianna and Chandler Bennett and Logan Carter.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Charles Bennett, her parents Martin and Gracie Brumfield, brothers Bill, Vic, Frank, and Bobby Brumfield, and sisters Mary Evelyn Sims and Patsy Becker.

Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Sunday, January 22, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.  Visitation will continue at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Denham Springs on Monday, January 23, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.  The eulogy will begin at 10:30 a.m, followed by a service at 11:00 a.m.    Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Mausoleum in Denham Springs.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area, the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, Dreams Come True, or your favorite charity in her memory.
