Michael Albert Smith, resident of Baton Rouge, passed away August 4, 2023 at the age of 68. His entire life until retirement was dedicated to his cooking in the field of culinary arts. He met his wife in the same field and they worked together from that time on. His passion, and devotion, was always to his wife and his pets. He was a devoted dog lover. He cherished all three of his dogs; Eli, Gracie, and Cherokee, and they will miss their master greatly. He leaves behind his children by marriage; Samantha Diane Locke, Lee Locke, and grandson; Gresham Locke. Dear friends that were very dedicated to him were Douglas
and Judy Stracener. Also, his companion was his friend James Washington who always went past the limit to help him. His sister-in-law Diane Krake Allain and brother-in-law Tim Allain talked to him on speaker phone all through his ICU days keeping him in spirits. They were the last in his mind and visions and he loved them so much. He was a quiet, sweet man who endured a lot of pain for months and never would complain. He was his wife’s whole world and his wife was his. We can’t always say what we need to say about our loved one, but he loved God and was a believer. He fought the fight, fought the battle and won eternal life with our Lord. Chocolate kisses to you, my husband, always. Thank you to the ICU team at the Baton Rouge General on Bluebonnet, thank you for his care at the Pines Retirement Center, and thanks to Robin and Lynel.
