David Banaman Scott, 74, passed away August 31, 2023 at his home in Plaquemine, LA. David served his country in the Vietnam War and worked with his own business in construction and carpentry before retiring to enjoy his family on the bayou. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and he will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Milton Scott; son, Jeffery David Scott; daughters, Jennifer Marie Mercier (Jude), Angela Marie Scott, and Rachel Laverle Scott; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brother, Laird Stephen Scott; as well as many nieces, nephews and other family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Laverle Dye Scott; siblings, Lawrence Barry Scott, Reginald Arnald Scott, and Cheryl Louene Scott.
The family will honor him with celebration of his life at a later date.

Jeff and I extend our condolences to Shirley. We thought the world of David. His generosity knew no bounds. He was always ready to help if needed.
