Freeman, Donald “Donnie” Ray
Don Freeman, January 24, 1935 – November 9, 2023 of Denham Springs, LA. He loved gardening and shared the fruits and vegetables of his garden with friends and family. Don was an avid LSU Tiger fan and even served as a Marshall for games in Tiger Stadium and of all places, in the student section for many years. Don proudly served his country in the Air Force for 4 plus years. He was raised on Bayou Latanache in Pointe Coupee Parish and attended and graduated from Innis High School. He worked on the family farm while growing up. Mr. Freeman is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Barnes Freeman; daughter – Laveta F. Browning of Frankfort, KY; two sons-Randall Freeman of Dallas, TX and Kurt Freeman of Denham Springs, LA; four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by one sister-Glenda Freeman Lipinsky of Baton Rouge, LA and one brother – Allen Freeman and wife Marlene Freeman of New Roads, LA. Don is preceded in death by father – Lester Bratton Freeman; his stepmother – Merle Short Freeman; two brothers – L.B. Freeman Jr. and Ronnie Freeman; and one brother-in-law – Ed Lipinsky. He was a lifelong member of Hebron Baptist Church in Denham Springs, Louisiana. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, 1720 S. Range Ave., Denham Springs, LA. on, Tuesday November 14, 2023 from 10AM until Celebration of Life Service at 12PM, conducted by Rev. John Pemberton. Burial will follow at Louisiana National Cemetery. Randy and family. I was so sorry to hear of Mr. Don’s passing. He was always so nice to me. He will be missed. Prayers for you all during this time.
