In Loving Memory of Madeline Jean Comiskey Stark
March 31, 1947 – December 19, 2023
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Madeline C. Stark, a proud mother of five, a native New Yorker, and a resident of Denham Springs. Born on March 31, 1947, she lived a life marked by strength, determination, and an unwavering commitment to those she held dear.
Madeline was a force to be reckoned with, known for her strong will and tenacious spirit. Growing up in New York, she developed a resilience that would shape her character and influence the lives of those around her. Her spirit and tenacity were defining features of her personality.
Madeline leaves behind a legacy of love and strength within her family. Her Husband of 51 years, Bruce Stark. Five children, Wendy Stark, Cassandra (Cassie) Pousson, Lenora (Lena) Oliver, Amanda (Amy) Seale and Jonathan Stark. Her 14 grandchildren Elizabeth Rovira, Collin Rovira, Ava Rovira, Madox Pousson, Sophia Pousson, Logan Pousson, Ryker Pousson, Ella Oliver, Leif Oliver, Finn Oliver, Elliot Seale, Jocelyn Seale, Olivia Seale and Alexander Stark. Two brothers James and Thomas Comiskey. Her grandchildren are the beneficiaries of her fierce protection, unwavering support, and lessons in resilience. Through both triumphs and tribulations, Madeline instilled in them the value of perseverance and the strength to overcome any obstacle.
The celebration of Madeline’s life will take place on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Seale Funeral Services, (1720 S Range Ave, Denham Springs, LA 70726) from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
May Madeline’s strong will and enduring spirit continue to inspire all who knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on in the hearts and minds of those fortunate enough to have been touched by her remarkable presence. May she rest in peace.

To the Stark Family,
I’m sincerely sorry for the loss of your beautiful mom. She was my cousin, but most of all she was my friend. We shared such great memories during our childhood. In the summer I would see her often as we spent the summers in Lake Ronkonkoma, we went to swimming lessons together, Maddy was an excellent swimmer, dancing lessons, climbing her big tree in her yard, and best of all walking to the candy-deli store crossing at five corners. Maddy was a bridesmaid at my wedding in 1967. Bruce and Maddy gave us wonderful memories on many Christmas Eves, even Santa was invited. Uncle Warren went out of his way to pick me up to stay a weekend. I was shocked when Aunt Aggie set the table for dinner, I had never seen such a large plate in my life that she placed for Warren. We shared barbecues, roasting marshmallows at the bungalow, and just had a great time. My family and I were sad when Bruce’s job cause them to move from Long Island. Over the years we kept in touch via phone calls, but both of us worked so it was a little difficult, Maddy always sent a newsy Christmas letter telling us about the kids. She loved being a mom. In April of 2016 I took a bad fall and broke my pelvic bone. It was Maddy who knocked on my door to help with my recovery. I was so thankful that I wasn’t going to be alone. It was really enjoyable being together, she even came to Red Hatters with me and she looked great in her purple and red colors.
Maddy had wanted to visit me this past year, but we just couldn’t work it out. I wish so much that I should of tried harder, I know it would of brought each of us true happiness and continued friendship. I’ve learned a hard lesson, don’t keep putting plans off until tomorrow, we never know God’s plan.
Maddy was so proud of each of her children and the successful careers they have. She loved her fourteen grandchildren and enjoyed sharing happy times spent together.
I wish I could of been with Maddy today, as I loved her and was very proud of the person she was. When we lose the ones we love a part of ourselves feel bewildered and lonely. I feel sunshine follows showers, happier memories will break through and help bring brighter days. I loved Maddy’s smile and sense of humor, so as time goes on think of the happy times you shared.
