Clarence Chester “CC” Stewart, aged 88, entered into eternal rest on February 17, 2024, after a life well-lived. Born on May 29, 1935, in Dozier, Alabama, he was the son of the late George and Thelma Stewart.
A patriot through and through, CC honorably served his country in the Army for a decade. His dedication to service continued in his civilian life where he held the esteemed position of Director of Plant Operations at multiple hospitals, demonstrating his commitment to healthcare and the wellbeing of others.
Known for his jubilant spirit and heart filled with kindness, CC’s generosity and humor brought joy to all who knew him. A lover of the great outdoors, he spent many a day fishing and hunting, and his talents extended to the arts where his singing and dancing were sources of delight at many gatherings. CC’s penchant for laughter was matched by his creative spark, often seen in the songs he made up and the structures he built.
CC leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his family. Mourning his passing yet celebrating his life are his sister, Beth; his children, Kathy, Janet (Fred), Chip (Benny), Scot (Martha), and Maria (Steve); his grandchildren, Sara (Josh), Mandi (Guillermo), Jeremiah (Stephanie), Audrey (Dustin), Michael (Reagan), Dillion (Reaghan), and PJ; and his great-grandchildren, Billy, Stewart, Paxton, Conner, Emily, Alice, Isabella, Reid, and Estella. He was preceded in death by his beloved wives, Virginia (d. 1985) and Jeaneen (d. 2022); his brothers, George and William; and his sisters, Margaret, Margie, Nelly, and Carolyn.
The family invites friends and loved ones to pay their respects at the visitation, which will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, Louisiana, on Saturday, February 24th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The funeral service will commence at 4:00 PM at the same location. Following the service, a reception will be held at the home of his son, Chip Stewart, and Benny Cernich, where all are welcome to join in commemorating CC’s remarkable journey through life.
