Catherine Yvonne Campbell (née Russell), lovingly known as Yvonne, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2024, in the comfort of her home in Denham Springs, Louisiana, at the age of 86. Surrounded by the love and warmth of her family, she went to be with the Lord.
Born on June 11, 1937 in Flint, Michigan, to Milous Kirk Russell and Edna Pauline Edwards, Yvonne grew up alongside her four beloved sisters: Betty Owens, June Hunter, Joyce Moore, and Sharon Robbins. On November 28, 1957, she married the love of her life, Duke Campbell, beginning a beautiful journey together that lasted over six decades, filled with love, laughter, and countless treasured memories.
Yvonne will be remembered for her warm heart, gentle spirit, and unconditional devotion to her family. Her radiant smile and infectious laughter spread joy to all who had the privilege of being in her presence. Whether by preparing a favorite dish, making up a playful jingle or putting on a costume just to invite unexpected laughter and joy, she possessed a remarkable gift for making everyone feel profoundly happy, loved and appreciated, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.
Left to cherish Yvonne’s memory are her loving husband Duke Campbell; her daughter Robin and son-in-law Glen Kirby; her sisters Betty Owens, Joyce Moore, and Sharon Robbins; her grandchildren Adam Kirby and Angela Nixon; and her great-grandchildren Lilah Nixon, Kirby Nixon, Paxton Nixon, and Luke Kirby. She was predeceased by her parents, Milous Kirk Russell and Edna Pauline Edwards, and her sister, June Hunter.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as a tribute to Yvonne’s generous spirit and love for children.
We take comfort in knowing that Yvonne is now in the loving presence of her Lord and Savior. May her faith, love, and legacy continue to inspire her family and friends, and may we all find peace in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Yvonne’s memory will forever remain etched in our hearts until we are reunited with her in Heaven.

Robin, I know you will miss her so much. I never met better people than Yvonne and Duke! I am so glad Kate and I got to visit with them years ago. We enjoyed that time together so much even though Kate was sick. Take good care of my brother Duke!

Our deepest condolences to you and your family. The promotion of your sweet mama is truly a celebration that you may not understand until you yourselves step into glory. Holding fast to the truth of 1 Thess. 4:13-18, we pray His peace to envelop, sustain, and comfort you.
