Stanley “Stan” Floyd Steele, Jr., a beloved family member and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home on June 26, 2024. After years of fighting his battle against lung cancer, Stan now sits at the feet of Jesus.

Stan was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on March 4,1969.  He attended Central Middle School, Starkey Academy, and Southeastern Louisiana University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in marketing with a minor in management.  While at Southeastern, Stan was a member of the TKE Fraternity.  Following graduation, Stan had a long career working at various companies, including Blossman Oil Company, Sonitrol, Hornbeck Offshore, C-Innovation, and Shell. He also worked offshore as a ROV Senior Technician and Operations Manager.

Outside of his work, Stan was a member of multiple hunting clubs, and enjoyed cooking, grilling, boiling crawfish, and surrounding himself with family and friends. He had a remarkable talent for bringing laughter to those around him with his infectious humor and sharp wit. What he loved most in life was being a father to his two daughters, Ashley and Mallory, and spending his time in the word of God.

Stan is survived by his parents, Linda and Stanley Steele Sr., daughters Ashley S. Acosta (Weston) and Mallory Steele, sister Laurie Dietrich, nieces Morgan D. Wilks (Hunter), Ali H. Reynolds (Clay), Alyssa Haddox, Abby Haddox, and nephew Garrett Dietrich.  He is preceded in death by his sister, Stacy Steele, maternal grandparents Elton and Mary Howell, paternal grandparents LD and Winnie Steele, aunt Lee H. Barbin, and cousin Christopher W. Barbin.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Stan’s life at Blackwater United Methodist Church on Saturday, July 20, 2024, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00a.m. and a service at 11:00 a.m. There will be a reception following the service in the Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Blackwater United Methodist Church Youth Group, where Stan was an avid member during his youth. A special thanks to Clarity Hospice, Blackwater United Methodist Church, and to all those who loved and were loved by Stan throughout his years.
