David Delmer Humphreys entered into eternal rest on July 11, 2024 at the age of 83. A native of Dry Prong, La and a veteran and Sergeant with the US Army during the Korean War before marrying and moving to Baton Rouge, La. David worked maintenance at Ethyl Corporation and for Chemical Leaman Tank Lines before retiring nearly twenty years ago. David loved spending quality time with both grand and great grandchildren teaching them in his backyard gardening, involving them in small woodworking projects and riding bicycles. He also loved yardwork and fishing.
Survived by his son, Todd Humphreys, wife Kayla; daughter, Donna Smith Watts; sister, Laverne Meyers; brother, Roger Humphreys, wife Sherri; grandchildren, Nicholas Watts, Patrick Humphreys, Declan Humphreys, Harley McMullen and Caitlin Carlson; great-grandchildren; Jeremiah Robinson, Jackson Robinson, Caden Robinson, London Watts, Lydia Dominguez, Vanlee Winfree, Leland McMullen, Waylon McMullen, Zeke Carlson, Jude Carlson, Katie Carlson, Caiden Thibodaux and Waverly Humphreys.
Preceded in death by his parents Delmer and Anna Bell Humphreys; wife, Betty Futrell Humphreys; grandsons, Michael Robinson and Jeremy Robinson.
No visitation or funeral services will be scheduled. A small celebration of life with family and friends will determined at a later date.

Sorry for your loss. I worked with David at Ethyl for ten years. He was always cheerful and happy. A true gentleman. Proud to have been his friend. I loved this man. Rest In Peace Buddy.Benny
