September 2, 1970 ~ July 30, 2024
Eric Nathan Alford, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many, passed away unexpectedly at the young age of 53 on July 30th, 2024 in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. He was born on September 2nd, 1970 in Walker, Louisiana. Eric will be deeply missed and is survived by his wife, Maurie Beszborn Alford; daughters Shelby Nicole Alford and Ericka Raevyn Alford; granddaughter Jaxsyn Rose Pouncey; brothers Charles “Buddy” Alford and John Sylvest; sister Teka Frederick, sister Rita Cable; as well as numerous other family members and friends. Eric was a dedicated Triad employee in which he found an extended family n each of his colleagues. Anyone who knew Eric knew how much he admired his work family. However, it was his role as a loving husband father that truly defined him. He cherished spending time with his family and friends, especially late nights on the front porch playing his guitar for anyone willing to listen. His generous spirit knew no bounds as he always lent a helping hand to those in need. He was known for being the person you could away count on whether you were a friend or stranger. His kindness touched countless lives over the years. Eric never met a stranger. In honor of Eric’s life well-lived there will be a memorial/celebration of life at Big Mike’s Banquet Hall on Saturday August 10th at 2pm. This gathering is fitting for Eric who never wanted to be confined within the walls of a funeral home but rather surrounded by close family and friends celebrating his life at one of his favorite places. The loss of Eric has left an indelible mark on all those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will forever remain in our hearts as we remember him fondly for all that he brought into our lives. Rest in peace dear Eric Nathan Alford – your memory will live vicariously through those whose lives you’ve touched.

Eric, It’s hard to find all the words to say…
I met you at 18; a young man lost in direction just trying to learn electrical and make some money, But then You came along as a genuine friend and father like figure. You took in me in like a son. You my dear friend was doing the Lord’s work! You led a young lost boy to the Love of Jesus! We worked side by side just you and me for like 4 years! I laughed so much and learned even more! You changed the course of my life Eric! You are a good and faithful servant of Our Lord Jesus Christ! You made me a better Man and father. Your seed led my soul to eternity with God! Because of you I am a servant of the Most High! An ordained disciple of Jesus just like you! See You soon my friend!! Until then rest in peace..
