Gary Hughes, age 79, passed on August 6, 2024. Gary was born in Hammond, LA and served in the Army Reserve. he worked as a millwright and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time outdoors.
Gary is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley Hughes; son, Mark Hughes (Sherrie); grandchildren, Siera, Katie, and Devon Hughes, Courtney and Hunter Kelly; great grandchildren, Ryder, Emmitt, Cambrie, Dravin Caston, Zeplin, Colton, Bryson, Layton; sisters, Faye Breland (Carl), Brenda Philips, Linda Sue Sands (Don).
Gary is preceded in death by his son, Gary “Bo” Hughes, Parents, Nina and Oscar Hughes; sister, Berry Ann McMichael; brothers, Billy Hughes, Jessie Hughes.
Pallbearers will be: Hunter Kelly, Bobby Lott, Randy Bessinger, Bubby Bessinger, Billy Hardy, Dave Powell.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024 from 11:00am – 1:00pm at Seale Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 1:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Beechridge Cemetery.

Rest in peace. You spent many years working hard. I wish you would have had just as many hours fishing as you put in providing for your family. The love between you and Ms Shirley was something to look up to and a goal to achieve. You are resting in a better place, and now my prayers are for extreme strength and comfort for Ms. Shirley as she endures the future ahead. My love to everyone.
