Howard (Gayle) Burdette, a native of Jackson Mississippi, passed away
peacefully on the morning of October 27 th . Gayle was a longtime factory manager in the
textile industry. He managed factories in Louisiana, Mississippi, Virginia, Tennessee,
and Alabama. He eventually moved back to Louisiana and went into the construction
industry with his brother, Bruce. He became a project manager and was responsible for
the construction of many of the buildings in the Industriplex. Additionally, Gayle was a
veteran. He trained German Shepards and was stationed in Morrocco.
Gayle is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jerry Burdette of Baton Rouge, a son
and daughter-in-law, Todd and Monique Burdette of League City, Texas, a daughter,
Tammy Pierce of Baton Rouge; a sister, Kay Kelley and husband Terry Kelley of Galvez,
La., grandchildren, Simone (Burdette) Aberly and husband Chris Aberly of League City,
Texas; Ashleigh Burdette and her fiancé, Stephen Kaufman of Prairieville, La., Joseph
Pierce, along with his girlfriend Amanda Murray and daughter Chloe of Baton Rouge
La., and Joshua Pierce and his wife Jennifer of Baton Rouge, La.; great-grandchildren
Charly Kate and Luke Aberly of League City, Texas, and nephews Randy and Wade
Gonzales and Travis Kelley.
Gayle was preceded in death by his parents, Howard K. Burdette and Webbie
Burdette, his brother Bruce Burdette and his sister Joan Gonzales.
A special thank you to the staff at the Center Point Healthcare and Rehabilitation
facility in Baton Rouge, La.

Beautiful right up of Gayle and all his accomplishments. God bless everyone for taking good care of him. Especially you, Tammy. I will miss talking with him on face book . He always made me laugh. He will be grately missed. God bless you all. Sending, love, hugs and prayers.
