“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” Micah 6:8
Momma, Granny, Ms. Christine, “Miss” Britton, Ms. Davis, Anna Christine, our 98-year-old beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully at her home, Saturday, November 2, 2024. She was born in Canton, MS, May 4, 1926, and then moved to Quitman, MS for almost 30 years. She and her family came to Denham Springs in 1956 and lived in the same house on Pine St. for 68 years. That house was the first house restored, after the flood of 2016, by an amazing Samaritan’s Purse team (plus family and friends near and far) led by Rev. Paul Harris and his wife Melanie from Waynesboro, MS. Anna Christine faithfully served her Lord and Savior at First Baptist Church Denham Springs for over 50 years. She was a valuable asset to the USDA office in Denham Springs for 36 years, and enjoyed serving in the Pilot Club of D.S., along with her dear friend Evelyn D’Armond. A memorial service will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Monday, November 11, with visitation from 9-11 and service at 11:00. It will be conducted by her grandsons, Stephen and Josh Britton, and Matt Calhoun. She is survived by her three sons, Danny (Janice Ott), Johnny (Peggy Laiche), James, stepdaughter Sue Davis, and stepson Tom Davis. She has four grandchildren, Stephen & Josh Britton, John Jr. and Chrissy Britton, nine great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husbands Earl Britton, Sr. and Jewell Davis, parents Lawrence Bivin and Mary Slay Harrison, two sisters Katherine Moore and Bonnie Dansby of Mobile, AL, and stepsons Glynn Davis and Charles “Chuck” Davis. This remarkable woman will forever live in our hearts! Paul and I have such wonderful memories of our time spent in Denham Springs and this family is right in the middle of those. She immediately
gathered us up and we became part of the “Britton” clan. We were so honored that the Lord chose us to minister to them and rebuild their home. It’s amazing how God takes tragic situations and uses them for His glory! We will forever be grateful for that season in our lives and for the privilege of being loved by Mr. Jewel ,Mrs. Anna Christine and their beloved family.
Prayers and Love to you all from Paul and Melanie
