Bobby Goss “Bob” Hill was born on August 2, 1934, in Watson, Louisiana to Lancy Edward Hill, Sr. and Bessie Kennard Hill Jones and passed away on November 18, 2024. Bob loved God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, his immediate and extended family, and people – especially the people of First United Methodist Church, Denham Springs where he worshipped and served for 76 years.
Bob married Barbara Del Wilkinson on June 14, 1956, and lost her to the Lord on January 23, 2012. Bob’s chosen profession was the field of education, which he practiced for 37 years until his retirement in 1994, after which he spent many hours working in his vegetable garden and wood shop.
Bob is survived by his 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Kathryn Blackwell (Chad), Susan Hill Gelé (Chris), and Laura Hill Perrilloux (Ron); 6 grandchildren, Matthew Blackwell (Danielle), Alana Day (Ben), Austin Perrilloux (Rachel), Camille Bray (Ryan), Sam Perrilloux, and Leah Gelé; 8 great-grandchildren Brayden, Addison, and Jackson Blackwell; Ezekiel, Levi, and Malachi Day; and Amelia and Calvin Bray, 1 sister, Marlene Milton; 2 sisters-in-law Jimmie Lee DeLaune and Connie Glover; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Bessie Kennard Hill Jones and Lancy Edward Hill, stepfather William Lee Jones; grandparents Alanson and Susie Kennard and John Hamilton and Alma Hill, brother Lancy Edward Hill, Jr., sister Natalie Hill Hood, and brothers-in-law Donald Hood and George Milton.
Pall bearers are grandsons Matthew Blackwell, Austin Perrilloux, Sam Perrilloux, and Ryan Bray, and nephews Jim DeLaune, Jr. and Lance Hill. Honorary pall bearers are the men of his Sunday School class and Bible Study group.
The family wishes to offer thanks to special caregivers Katrina and Shayla. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Barbara Hill Special Projects Fund at First United Methodist Church, 316 Centerville St. NW, Denham Springs, LA 70726.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 9-11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 316 Centerville St. NW, Denham Springs, followed by a service at 11 a.m. and graveside service at Evergreen Memorial Park, 1710 S Range St, Denham Springs.

Mr. Hill was one of those teachers you never forgot, even if 65 years have passed.
