Christopher “Big Daddy” Lee Gill was born in Rome, Georgia on December 3rd, 1968. After a brief illness, he passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on November 27th, 2024 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is survived by his wife Sheri Gill, daughters from his first marriage Jessica Gill Thomas and Megan Gill, “his girls” Savannah (Jake) Buckhalter, Madi Nunley, Jesi (Taylor) Wray, and Ella Nunley, and six grandchildren. Stacy (Angie) Gill and Brian (Jerrilynn) Gill of Summerville, Georgia are his surviving brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents Tony and Deborah (Guinn) Gill, and brother Casey Gill.
Chris grew up in Summerville, Georgia surrounded by extensive family, friends, and a gaggle of cousins. He was a standout football player at Chattooga High School. Chris loved life and was loved by all. He never met a stranger and stopped to help anyone in need. He loved family, friends, camping, cruises, fishing, the Georgia Bulldogs and making the best damn asphalt in America. Chris held a BS in Asphaltology and dabbled in stocks.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 18th, 2025, at the Livingston Council on Aging, 949 Government Drive, Denham Springs. A visitation will be at 3:00 p.m., followed by a brief service at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Chris’s memory to Satsuma Baptist Church would be appreciated.

I enjoyed meeting Chris and Sheri on a cruise and the following years of staying in touch through Facebook. Big hugs and thinking of Sheri and family during this hard time.
