Lola Fuqua Chambers was born on May 22, 1931, in Effie, LA, and departed this life for her heavenly home on Friday, January 17, 2025, at the age of 93.  She retired from the Livingston Parish School System as the Lunchroom Manager at Freshwater Elementary School.  As a result of her love for being around people she worked for many years as a cashier at Winn Dixie in Walker.  She loved family get togethers and traveling.  She loved working in her yard every day.  Her hobbies were scrap booking and sewing.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Carl Barnum, and son and daughter-in-law, Calvin and Bonnie Chambers, sisters – Martha Ott and Mary Reagan; grandchildren Layne (Morgan) Barnum, Rodney (Amy) Barnum, David (Kaci) Chambers, Michael (Jordan) Daniel & Brian Daniel, Lora (Dale) Johnson, Janet (Scott) Lathrop; Great-grandchildren Abby (Kyle) Idler, Garrett (Sarah) Watson, Carly Barnum, Katie Barnum, Samantha Barnum, Raegan Chambers, Dyer Chambers, Kendall Chambers, Alexus (Destin)Countryman, Max Daniel, Maddy Daniel, Mia Daniel, Olivia Daniel, Anna Daniel; great-great grandchildren River, Houston, Eloise, Cash, Monroe, Daxton, Tripp; many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Chambers; parents, Calvin & Mary Fuqua; daughter, Marie Chambers Daniel; grandson Todd Hutchinson, brothers Leroy (Daisy) Fuqua, J.D. Fuqua, Eldridge Fuqua, sisters Helen (Thomas) Cassels, Faye (Doc)Thornton.

Visitation will be at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the memorial service at 12 p.m.

The family would like to thank Linda Cassels and Rachel Chandler for their loving care over the last 2 years and the awesome staff at Golden Age Nursing Home while under their care this past month.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude.

    I’m so sorry for your loss. I remember Mrs. Lola when my Dad, Mr. Jack Bankston, was the principal at Freshwater Elementary. She was such a kind, caring lady who did a great job every day. I’m praying for all of you.
