Perry Allen Wilson, Jr., known to family as “Bubba”, was born on a Sunday, August 29, 1954, in Kennedy, Texas, to Wilma Boothe Wilson and Perry Allen Wilson, now deceased. Leaving Texas, he lived in Baton Rouge, graduating from Glen Oaks High School and LSU, majoring in Art History and the Classics and where he died on Monday, March 17, 2025.

Perry never met a stranger, facilitating his learned ability to converse in five languages.  His natural curiosity of cultures, peoples and the arts were enriched as he traveled the world.  There were always stories of adventure, relishing the “hunt” for art and antiques and just plain stuff, which he always enjoyed sharing.  Perry loved Life!

Nature came calling as he grew older.  Gardening was his way of connecting with Beauty and people.  Like the years, he grew a vegetable garden on his street and shared the produce with his neighbors in Capital Heights.  Perry built bridges connecting people with the work of his hands!

And there were Fun times when he took his nieces, Mary Patrice Tucker and Karen Niggemeyer Garcia and nephew Patrick Tucker, as children to “Fun Fair Park,” or an evening watching the fireworks on the 4th of July.  Remembering the time, he went with his sisters, Sylvia Ledbetter Tucker (Pat) and Caresse Wilson Niggemeyer, to a wolf rescue reserve. Three adult siblings out for the day together creating memories.  Estate and garage sales and of course “The Purple Cow” provided much entertainment for Joe Porrelo, his partner for 32 years and Perry   Judy and Steven Kelton along with Jim Gordon made his day, with trips to Disney World.  Perry was a “More the Merrier” kind of Guy!

When Alzheimer’s became a part of his life, Perry fought!  He was never alone.  There were “Angels Dressed Up to Look Like People” that were there for him–Pat Tucker, Gretchen Jones, Jimmy Britton, Alisha Coleman, Pam Steels, Jacklyn Hart and all the folks at Fedilis White Road.  In addition, Chaplain Rick Julian and Christian Kelly of Compassus Hospice and all of its staff that were a part of his weekly life.   As death drew near, an Angel of Mercy, Toni Leblanc, Nurse for Compassus Hospice helped carry him through to a better place. A deep and heart-filled gratitude to these angels from all of us who loved Perry.

Cousins, great nieces and nephews and a great-great niece held a special place in his heart.  Perry was cremated by Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs; his ashes will be distributed at a later date in North Louisiana on the Quachita River.  Perry’s Love did not die, It Continues-
