With heavy hearts we announce the passing of James C. Culpepper Jr., a beloved father, Poppa, brother, uncle and friend. He left this world on April 13,2025, at the age of 70, at his home in Central, Louisiana surrounded by loved ones. Born on July 16, 1954, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Jimmy lived a life rich with love, hard work and dedication. But most of all he had a loving relationship with his savior, Lord Jesus Christ.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his mom and stepfather, Annie and Bob Arnold; father, James Culpepper Sr; and younger brother, Robert (Bo) Culpepper. He leaves behind a loving family, his fiancé, Joyce W. Patterson; daughter and son in law, Kimberly and David Denicola; his sons, James III and Jesse Culpepper; grandchildren Logan and Kadie Denicola; his ex-wife and dear friend, Shirley Culpepper; sisters and brother in laws, Rosemary and Gery Mclemore, Dianne and Chris Kroll; half- sisters Kecia and Lecia Arnold.
James (Pepper) exemplified a strong work ethic and was known for his no-nonsense approach, earning respect from all he worked with. He dedicated over 40 years to his work as an Ironworker/welder and supervisor with Turner Industries. He was a proud member of Ironworkers Local 623.
His retirement years with Joyce brought him immense joy.
We will miss his stubbornness and his unwavering commitment to do the right thing even if no one was watching. James Culpepper was a fighter in life and in his battle with cancer all the way to the very end. “You can rest now, Daddy. Your fight is over and now u can rest in eternal peace. We love you dearly!”
Services will take place at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Wednesday April 16, 2025 with visitation from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM and funeral service starting at 1:00 PM. Burial will immediately follow in Culpepper Family Cemetery. Please share your condolences at www.sealefuneral.com

Jim was a true gentleman and a joy to be around. I feel fortunate for the times we got to share together and the many laughs we had from his stories. He was a friend to all, and will be sorely missed.
