June 28, 2025by SealeUser1

Lila Taylor Loflin, at age 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 26, 2025,

at her home in Colyell.  She was born July 17, 1934, in Colyell to Ira and Viola Taylor.

She was married to her loving husband of 68 years, Andrew “Sonny Boy” Loflin Jr., with whom she had two daughters.  She loved them fiercely and devoted her life to them.

In her younger years she often spent a lot of her time at the ballpark watching her favorite left-handed pitcher, Sonny Boy.    Lila’s hobbies included crafting, gardening, and spending many nights at their camp on Blind River.   Her passion for music touched everyone around her and many precious memories were made sitting around a piano or attending a bluegrass festival.

Later in life her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and ensuring that everyone who visited her home never left without a fresh cup of coffee and good conversation.   She was a member of Colyell Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie Loflin Guyban (Gary); son-in-law Toby McCon; sister, Floyce Taylor Milton; grandchildren, Tobe McCon (fiancée Dusty), Jarred Guyban (Kristina), and Meagan Guyban Roach (Johnny); great- grandchildren Jacob McCon (Marissa), Matthew McCon (fiancée Camryn), Judson, Graham, and Presley Guyban, Andrew Roach; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Lila was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Viola Taylor; husband Andrew “Sonny Boy” Loflin Jr.; daughter, Paulette Loflin McCon; sister, Vera Taylor Meyers.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025 from 6-8:30pm at Colyell Baptist Church.  Visitation will continue Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 9 am until funeral services at 11am officiated by Rev. Paul Taylor.

Interment will follow at Colyell Baptist Church.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the amazing staff at Foundations Hospice for the compassionate care they provided during Lila’s final days.  Your kindness, dedication, and support will never be forgotten.
