On Tuesday, December 29, 2020, Herbert Lee Armstrong, loving husband and father of three, passed away at the age of 64.
Herbert was born on December 7, 1956 in Zachary, Louisiana to John and Laura Armstrong. On March 16, 1978, he married his best friend and the love of his life Helen Marie Roach. Together they raised two sons Hijah and Hyshawn and one beautiful daughter, Heidi.
Herbert had a passion for classic cars and Rhythm & Blues. He enjoyed working on cars while listening to music. If you passed by while he was working on a car, he’d welcome you over to laugh, talk about cars, music and Jehovah God; which was his greatest passionteaching others about God’s Kingdom, along with his best friend, Helen. He enjoyed teaching his boys about Jehovah’s creations and how to fix cars (or fix anything, because if it was broken he could fix it). He loved going on long rides with his wife Helen, meeting new people, helping those in need, and he had an infectious smile and a caring heart. He always looked for ways to bring enjoyment of life to those he met.
Herbert was preceded in death by his father, John; mother, Laura; daughter, Heidi; brother, Gerald (Lydia); Sister, Joyce Causey (Elmore Causey). He is survived by his wife Helen, two sons, Hijah (Kendal), Hyshawn, his siblings Reno (Ethel), Raymond (Quinessa), Rita Sims (Barton Sims), Kale (Loretta), Delynn Wisham (Robert Wisham), and a plethora of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Herbert was an exemplary father, husband, brother, and uncle who will be dearly missed by all and our hearts ache in disbelief at his passing. The bible says at ECCLESIASTES 7:1 “A good name is better than good oil, and the day of death is better than the day of birth”. Herbert’s reputation and life course identified him as one who will be remembered in God’s book of life.
A funeral service will be held (via ZOOM)MEETING
onSaturday, January 9th, 2021 at 1pm and comforting cards or gifts of love can be sent to the Armstrong family at 9918 Beta Dr., Baton Rouge, LA 70814.

Uncle Herbert, I’m happy and sad all at the same time. I’m happy that you: finally got your wings, didn’t have to suffer too long, and that you finally got the chance to meet Jehovah and Jesus. I’m just sad bc I’m really gonna miss you. I love you so much. As for everyone else reading this comment. You couldn’t pay Uncle Herbert to come back down here with us. He is overwhelmed with joy right about now and he’s focusing solely on God. Let’s repent of sins and turn from our wicked ways so that we can make it to Heaven too.

I worked with Herbert for many years at Rabenhorst Funeral Home. He was a good worker who always had a smile on his face. Sad to hear of his passing. My thoughts and prayers will be with his family.
