Ms. Jamie was my teacher and mentor from 2003 to 2007 at Doyle. I’m shocked and saddened to hear of her passing. I looked up to Ms. Jamie and thought she was one of the coolest people on earth. She knew all about computers and photography (she even had a digital camera that held a floppy disk!) and she became a sort of mentor for me. I spent a lot of time in the classroom with her during my junior and senior years at Doyle as a kind of sidekick. We went on trips for FBLA and we interacted every day. I’ll never forget Ms. Jamie or the impact she had on my life. I learned so much about technology and software from her, and she allowed me to work on the end-of-year slideshow which was a special privilege. We had a ton of fun and she was really someone who helped me become the adult I am today. The last time I saw Ms. Jamie was sometime in 2010 when I stopped by Doyle, only to discover she had become the assistant principal. She took me to lunch and we caught up. That was the kind of person she was–she cared deeply about her students. I think of her from time to time and about how fast she walked. All of my condolences to the family. I’m so sorry for your loss. I had hoped to catch up with her again soon. My heart is broken at this sad news.

So sorry to hear about Mrs. Jamie. She taught my husband, Phillip, and I at Doyle. She was such a sweet lady. I will always remember her drive, everyone knew she could get anything done! I also had the pleasure of knowing Mrs. Jamie as an adult. My father worked with her for years and I even had the opportunity to substitute teach at the school when she was the assistant principal. I know she will be dearly missed be everyone that knew her. Prayers for all of her family.

Mrs. Jamie Arnold was my Assistant Principal from the years 2013-2017. She was such a sweet lady and a kind soul. She was a very humorous person and she also knew how to scare the students into shape. She will be dearly missed. We laughed over the fact we had the same last name but absolutely no relation, even though we tried for weeks my junior year to see if we were related. I send my best wishes and condolences to her family.

      Austin,
Doyle was a huge part of Jamie’s life. She hated having to leave when she did. It’s nice to know she had such an impact on students and faculty alike. Thanks again, Jamie’s Mom.

To the Arnold and Buhler Family, I am so very heart-broken to hear of Jamie’s death. I pray for everyone that was touched by Jamie’s smile and love. Unfortunately, I know the horrible feeling that your families are going thru – you will always miss here, but know she is home and is smiling with no pain, I will always have a special place in my heart for her! To Vicki and Ms. Gail, I hurt for you both.

      Jerry,
Thank you for your loving words for Jamie. She was so loved by everyone who knew her. It was devastating when she was diagnosed with cancer. I really though we had 5+ years left with her, but it only turned out to be 4 1/2 months. She was so strong and so ‘Jamie’ right to the end. Doyle High School, where she taught for 15 year and was assistant principal for 15 years, dismissed class yesterday in her honor. Livingston Parish News published an article about her in their newspaper. Jerry, I do hope you are doing good. I have gotten updates from time to time and have always wished you well. Thanks again for thinking about Vicki and me.
