August 10, 1940 ~ March 19, 2021
Rosa S Day (Mae), 80 years of age, a native of Port Allen, La and a resident of Plaquemine, La went to be with the lord on March 19, 2021. Funeral services and visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home on March 22, from 9-11 with graveside services following at 1pm at False River Memorial in New Roads, La. Rosa was born in Port Allen, La on August 10, 1940. She married her late husband, Sherman E Day in 1957 and they raised 3 children. Rosa is survived by her son, Gerry; 4 grandchildren, Chad, Ashlie (and wife Christy), Brandon (and wife Mia), and Jacob; 6 grandchildren, Ethan, Nathan, CJ, Jaidyn, Kaizen and Taylor and many sisters, nieces, and nephews. Rose is proceeded in death by her late husband, Sherman E Day; mother, Elizabeth Carroll; son, Jason Day; daughter, Debra Day; brother, Alvin St. Romaine. Rosa immersed herself in her family and taking care of others. She had a way of making you feel safe and calm. She spent time sewing, crocheting and teaching. She also worked outside of the home. Everything from working in a shoe sole factory to driving a school bus and even volunteering with preschool children in the classroom. She was a true matriarch, a teacher, an inspiration, a fantastic example of human decency, but most of all a lover. Not only did she just love but she loved all.
