Dewitt “Bit” Smith, 89, of Baton Rouge, LA passed away peacefully on May 22, 2021. He proudly served his country in the Navy Seabee’s during the Korean War. He is survived by his children; Mickie Watkins, Louise Stoltz, Sherry (Jerry) Cook, and Mark Smith, eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, his sister Jan O’Quin and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Neita Breau Smith, sister’s; Delores Leger, and Faith McDaniel, and brother, Al Smith. There will be a Celebration of Life service at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs on Saturday, May 29, 2021, visitation will be held from 9:00am until memorial services at 11:00am. The entombment will follow at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Morganza at 1:30pm. The family would like to thank Lakeview Manor in New Roads, and a special thanks to Charmaine, Catherine, Martha and Wanda for their loving attention and for taking such good care of “Papa”.
