January 28, 1935 – January 25, 2022
Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Robert (Bob) Tyler was born on a snowy, cold winter day, January 28th, 1935 in Sandpoint, Idaho. He peacefully departed this earth for his Heavenly Home on January 25th, 2022 at his home in Watson, Louisiana surrounded by his family. He loved the Lord and was ready to go Home to be with his Jesus. He was a Deacon at Amite Baptist Church and a driver in the bus ministry there for many years. It brought him great joy to bring the children to church on Sunday mornings. He was a welder by trade and a true craftsman in his field. He was married to his lovely wife Opal for 67 years and that love endured to the end of his life here on earth. They had five children together who were his pride and joy and he loved dearly. That love was returned in full until he drew his last breath. He was adored by his grandchildren and great grandchildren alike who all just called him Pawpaw. That love was absolutely returned in full, overflowing measure. He was a friend to many and loved deeply by those who called him friend. He is survived by his wife Opal White Tyler. Two sons, Calvin Tyler and Donald Tyler. Two daughters, Kay Tyler and Robin Tyler Moore (David). Fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. Three sisters Lola Hogeland, Mildred Dickerson and Kay Stovern. Special loved ones, Paul LeBlanc, James Truax and Judy Tyler. He is preceded in death by his parents Clinton Tyler and Hazel Tyler Higley, daughter Karen Tyler Akers, grandson Calvin (Lamman) Tyler, brother Vernon Tyler and sister Rachel Davies. His grandsons Todd Truax, Kenneth Flores, Brad LeBlanc, Michael Tyler, Charlie Hebert and Carlton Erwin will serve as pall bearers. Honorary pall bearers are Tyler Ray Turner, Ryan Hallford and Brad Guidroz. The family would like to thank Crystal & Frankie with Louisiana Hospice for all the love and support they gave us through this difficult and trying time. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, on Friday January 28, 2022 from 5pm until 8pm. Visiting resumes at the funeral home, on Saturday January 29, 2022 from 9am until Celebration of Life Service at 11am, conducted by Rev. Sandy Sherman. Burial will follow in Amite Baptist Church Cemetery.
