May 8, 1961 ~ August 30, 2022
Proverbs 31:10-12 KJV – “Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart ofher husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.” Brenda Kay Britt Garner, 61, was surrounded by her loving family as she passed away on August 30, 2022. She was born on May 8, 1961, in San Antonio, Texas. She was a resident of Ethel, Louisiana. Brenda graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1979 and attended LSU. In February 1982, she married the love of her life, Scott Keith Garner. While raising her family, Brenda enjoyed baking, sewing, and was an avid reader. Her interests included antiques, history and animals. But above all, she cherished the time she got to spend with her family and friends. Friends of her “boys” became instant family members upon meeting Brenda. Her compassion evolved into a motherly love for everyone around her, including family and friends. Brenda is survived by her husband, Scott Keith Garner, children, Shaun Garner (Brooke), Timothy Garner (Amber), Daniel Garner, and Faye Williams(Keith and children), mother-in-law Lorraine Garner, and sister-in-law Kimberly Garner. She is also survived by her uncle Leo Michaud (Ruth), and her siblings, Loretta Britt, Lynne Britt, Wayne Britt, Paul Britt (Cathy), Anita Britt Colter (John), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents Willard and Jeannette Britt. Thank you to the staff of the Butterfly Wing at Baton Rouge General Hospital. ACelebration of Life event will be held at noon September 4th 2022, at her son’s home. Visitation will be held at Saint Jude the apostle Catholic Church, 9150 Highland Rd., Baton Rouge, LA, on September 6,2022, from 9am until 10am and the service will be held from 10am to 11am.

My heart aches at the loss of my little sister. She was a remarkable person. She loved her life as a wife, mother, aunt, sister, and daughter. Her family was her pride and joy. Her absence will be keenly felt my family and friends. May she find peace with the angels in heaven.
