Mrs. Linda F. Cockerham went to her heavenly home on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at the age of 75 at the Pines Retirement Center in Baton Rouge. She was a life-long resident of Livingston, and a graduate of French Settlement High School and Spencer Business College. She was the devoted wife of Burl J. Cockerham for 53 years and the beloved mother of Alissa R. Cockerham. She loved cooking and trying new recipes and had a passion for decorating. She had a huge love of animals. Linda worked for the state at the Livingston Welfare Office for 16 years and for the Livingston Parish Clerk of Court for 18 years, retiring in 2002. She was a long –time member of the Eastern Star and French Settlement Baptist Church. She will be cherished and greatly missed by her husband and daughter, as well as her sister, Jewell Willie, niece, Wanda Dyess, and nephew, Lee Willie. She is preceded in death by her parents Elliott and Pearly McCarroll. Funeral services will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Livingston on
Saturday, October 1, 2022. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM with service at 12:00 PM. A procession will then proceed to French Settlement Baptist Church for graveside service and internment in the French Settlement Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joseph Willie, Caleb Irvine, Joshua Irvine, Cameron Watts, Darryl Dyess, and Joey Willie. The family would like to thank the staff of Aububon Hospice and the Pines Retirement Center.
