Obituary for Carole Shillcutt
Carole Morris Shillcutt
April 7, 1946 - September 10, 2020
It is with tremendous sadness that I announce my Mother’s passing.
Carole Eileen Morris Shillcutt passed away peacefully on September 10, 2020 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents, Walter L. Morris Jr. and Grace Marler Morris, her first husband, Ronald James Turner, her son, Alan Scott Turner and her Son in law, Nolen Richard Russell, III. She is survived by her husband of twenty-four years, Bob Shillcutt of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, her son Michael Wayne Turner Russell of Memphis, Tennessee, granddaughter Alexandria Turner of Fort Worth, Texas and grandson, Devin Hansen of Hanford, California.
Carole was an Avon representative for years where she was honored with many sales awards and recognition including President’s Club and Honor Society. The business of Avon provided an opportunity for Carole to spend time with her children during their younger years. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time in her yard. Carole had a green thumb and could produce the most beautiful flowers, plants and trees. She really could get anything to grow. Carole enjoyed sewing, playing piano, fishing and crabbing. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Carole was born in San Diego, California and grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana. A job transfer moved Carole and Bob to Beaumont, TX in the mid 1990’s. Another job transfer moved them once again to her final home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where they lived for the past twenty-two years.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Carole’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org. Funeral arrangements are currently pending
