Darryl Wilson Tutt

03/01/1978 - 04/10/2019

Obituary for Darryl Wilson Tutt

Darryl Wilson Tutt, age 41, entered Heaven’s Eternal Gates on April 10, 2019 at his residence in St. Amant, Louisiana.
Darryl was born March 1, 1978 to David and Gloria Rutherford Tutt. He graduated from Woodlawn High school where he had many friends, some of which he called “his boys”. He attended Southeastern University in Hammond where he was majoring in Marketing. However, he left school to follow in his father’s footsteps as an independent insurance agent. Darryl was a visionary and loved working on his home. He left the insurance industry to use his talent and love for taking older homes and converting them into beautiful, updated homes for others. He founded Heartland Investments and worked with many sub-contractors over the years until the flood of 2016 which devastated the Baton Rouge area. Darryl took the responsibility of other people’s homes to allow them to recover from the flood. Darryl lost five of his houses, but his heart was to put others first.
On January 12, 2008, Darryl married his high school friend and soulmate, Sarah Scavona who has always been the love of his life. Darryl and Sarah spent many week-ends on Lake Maurepas with his power boats and “hanging” with friends blasting loud music across the water. He loved to travel with his family, with cruises being at the top of his list where he and Sarah could scuba dive as often as possible. But his favorite thing to do was spending family time with Sarah and his children.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Scavona Tutt, to whom the other was always trying to beat in saying “ I love you more”, his treasured “Bug” and little princess, Bentley Renee Tutt who loved her daddy reading to her and their quirky saying of “No ONIONS!”. His look alike son, who he called “Bubbee”, Ryker Wilson Tutt, with their catchphrase “bad boys for life”, could not get enough of horse-playing. Both of his children loved tickle time with daddy. Survivors also include his parents, Dave and Gloria Tutt and his second parents, Jake and Angee Scavona. He leaves behind his brothers, David Wayne Tutt and his wife Kay, and, his brother, Danny Ray Tutt and his wife, Ashley.
Darryl had a multitude of friends, cousins and family members along with co-workers. There are too many to list, but they know who they are. His partner in crime is his lifelong friend, Nathan Davis.
Special in his life were his nieces and nephews to whom he adored being Uncle “D”. Each feeling they were his favorite. These included, Candi Roseberry and her husband Josh; Brittany Friddle and her husband Chaise; Brycen Scavona, Jena Tutt, Taysha Tutt, Kaleb Tutt, Skylar Tutt, Christian Zeko and Aubrey Tutt.
A celebration of Darryl’s life will be held Sunday, April 14th at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, LA. The services will be conducted by Reverend Billy Perry with a eulogy by his brother, Danny and his cousin, Chip Harris.
For those who have inquired, Darryl was an officer in the Tutt Family Foundation where his favorite cause was the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Christmas Crusade for Children. The Foundation address is: P O Box 83360, Baton Rouge, LA 70884. Please sign the online guestbook at
