Obituaries For Don Edley Tuttleton

A Man After God’s Own Heart:

Don Edley Tuttleton, 80, of Denham Springs, LA, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, September 6, 2020. Born and raised in Texas which is where he met his lovely wife Tommie Tuttleton (Green) while cruising the streets of Fort Worth, TX. After 5 years of courting, they married in 1961 and had two wonderful children, Kathryn Webb, and Karl Tuttleton. During the early years of his life, Don served in the Army Reserves while working for IBM. His career then took him and his family from Forth Worth, TX to Lincoln, NE where he felt God’s calling to serve Him as a pastor in 1980. After hearing God’s call, Don retired from IBM and began serving the Lord without looking back. For 40 years he has served in the ministry, sharing the Gospel of Christ to all, and provided God’s love through counseling in the churches he served from Nebraska to Louisiana. His final church he served where he was one of the founding pastors is Christ’s Community Church. He had the pleasure of retiring (sort of) from Christ’s Community, but still stayed involved.

You see, Don’s life was not one for just sitting by. When he felt God’s calling, he acted. All those who knew Don, knew his faith was true and sincere. Don never compromised and you could always trust in what he had to say. If you needed an ear to listen, words of encouragement, or someone to pray with you or for you, who would you call, Don. He was a brother to many and a Christian father to all.

Don was preceded in death by his father, William W. Tuttleton, mother, Thelma Louise Hotchkiss, brother, Billy Tuttleton, and grandson, Joshua M. Hagen. He is survived by his sister, Anne Womack, wife, Tommie Tuttleton (Greene), daughter, Kathy Webb, son, Karl Tuttleton, grandson, Jordan W. Hagen, grandson, Lawson Tuttleton, granddaughter, Sophia Tuttleton, and great granddaughter Ellie Hagen.

He was a loving and devoted husband of 59 years, father, grandfather, and friend. Devoted to the Lord in all that he did. He will be missed dearly by all who loved him. There will be a celebration of his life at Christ’s Community Church, Denham Springs, Saturday, September 19, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Neuroendocrine Tumor Foundation in honor of Kathy Tuttleton Webb.
