Gerald Wayne Whitehead
A resident of Livingston passed away at his home early Saturday, November 6, 2018 at the age of 81. He was a graduate of Doyle High School in 1956. Gerald received his Bachelor’s degree at LSU in 1960 and went on to get his Masters in Forestry from the University of Georgia in 1962. Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Livingston on Saturday, November 10, 2018 beginning at 10:00am. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm. Burial will follow in Gateway Gardens Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Theresa Hughes Whitehead, son, Michael Wayne Whitehead and wife Angela Bankston Whitehead, two daughters; Jill Whitehead, and Alyson Whitehead Ernest and husband Craig Ernest, eleven grandchildren; Jack, Jr. “Jackson” , Ben, Sean, Meghan, Jessica, Julianne, Riley, Nickolas, Lillie, Rebekah, and Rachel, brother Carlton Whitehead and wife Nellie, special sister, Kay Acosta, numerous nieces and nephews and special friends; Pete and Betty Rigby, and Joyce and Ben Stewart. He was preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Pearl Whitehead, three brothers, Kenneth, Jimmy, and Gary Whitehead, and sister, Doris Whitehead Vancitters. Pallbearers will be; Jackson Neyland, Ben Ernest, Sean Whitehead, Bryan Whitehead, Orlanda Casas, and Jerry Dantzler. Greg Sheets will serve as honorary pallbearer. Mr. Whitehead wa s a dear friend to me and my entire family. He helped me start my logging and professional driving career. Everybody needed a person like Mr. Gerald in their life.
