Condolences

We were friends beginning in 1976 and I will always cherish our memories. It was an honor to learn about growing up and being fruitful in living despite trials and tribulations. I remember Michael's pain and sorrow for his father getting sick and passing and the beauty of the music in his soul for expressing that pain. I still have a copy of an album he made many, many years ago. I am a better person having known Michael D. Smith. Prayers for comfort for his loved ones and family.

I had the pleasure of working with Michael over the last 15 years. He was a true leader and great person. I recall his talent not just in his work, but playing the piano and entertaining others. Michael will be missed. My prayers to Chris and all of Michael's family. My prayers also for Michael as he meets the wonderful grace of God.
- Mike Heilman
Mike and Chris were the best part of my job everyday, I remember when Mike was telling me about meeting Chris and then I had the pleasure of meeting him, what a great pair. They were go getters and so smart and their advice and knowledge made me a better person. Our after hours were so much fun! God bless you Chris and family, know I am thinking of you.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. But may the words of Jesus Christ be able to warm your hearts up a bit with the happy hope of being able to see him again and the hope he gives us is found in John 5:28,29 in which he is here giving us all a promise about resurrecting all of our dead loved ones back to life and then being able to live forever on this earth, as the Bible says in Psalm 37:29. So may these words bring a real sense of comfort in your trying times.

I offer my sincere condolences to Chris and other family members of Michael. He was a kind and wonderful man. I am honored to have known him.

Michael and Chris interviewed me many many years ago and I began my journey with MHI and my friendship with them. Michael always called me Marjorie, which is my given name and he was the only person, besides my Mom, I ever remember calling me Marjorie. I loved that Michael was brilliant...in Nursing, Long Term Care and in Music and in writing and speaking. I am blessed to have called him friend. I will miss him. I’m sure he is singing in the Angels choir! Sending much love and prayers to Chris and family.

Praying for Chris and family. I felt blessed to work with Mike for 17 years, he will be missed by many as he was loved by many. He had a profound impact on the lives of countless senior citizens, both directly and indirectly through his work in long term care. God brought another angel home.

I will never forget meeting Mike for the first time and Ronnie and Mark’s wedding, which he officiated. I remember Mike and I doing all we could to help with the preparations and just getting to know each other. I knew from spending that time with him that he was a loving and caring person. I feel great full to have had the opportunity to text with him last Monday, to let him know that he and Chris were always in my prayers. I will miss is gentle kindness and I will treasure having been blessed to be considered a friend. Tiara Alexander Sisson
