Obituary for Richard Lyman Sullivan

Richard Lyman Sullivan, 79, of Denham Springs, passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018. He served his community as a fire fighter for over 30 years before retiring as Deputy Chief for Baton Rouge Fire Department. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew him. Visitation will be held at Judson Baptist Church, Walker, on Wednesday, Jan. 2, from 10 a.m. until service at 2 p.m., officiated by Rev. Merlin McCon and Rev. David Lane. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Burial will follow at Hebron Baptist Cemetery, Denham Springs, LA. He is survived by his daughter, Denell Glascock (Jeff); son, Richard W. Sullivan (Marjorie); grandchildren, Kyle and Cody Glascock, Katie Martin, Ronnie Millett, Wyatt Sibley, Ryan Sullivan, and Ashley Riddle; great-grandchildren, Makayla, Michael, Gavin, Brooklyn, Charlee, Jade, and Chase; sister, Marquita Hawkins; as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lindel Sullivan; parents, Richard A. and Thelma Sullivan; and daughter, DeeDee Sullivan. Please share your condolences at www.sealefuneral.com.

Condolences

Richard was a great friend and Captain. We had many good times working at station 6. We found time to play ping pong and pool and cards between all the first aid and fire calls. We hunted and fished together many times. Richard will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
