As a child, the McKey home was like a 2nd home to me. I always admired the way every evening supper was eaten all together with everyone present. Mr. Elmo was adored by every member of his family. He was a kind man that I’ve never forgotten. My prayers are certainly with his wonderful wife Janice, and Dina and Rawlie as well. However, I rejoice knowing that as a Christian- he is with Jesus now !

Our prayers for the McKey family at this time. Elmo was a Waffle House regular where he met with friends and they solved the world’s problems. He was very proud of his family, please know that he only had good and positive things to say when talking about his children and grandchildren. We will miss him.

Sorry for your loss. Positive thoughts and prayers from Evelyn Porter and Randy Porter. Fond memories of Mr. Elmo tossing the football, shooting the basketball, playing baseball with the neighborhood boys, on the corner of O’Neal and South Harrells Ferry Road at his store! We just never could convert him from the Ole Miss side (LOL) Love to all!

I first met Elmo in 1996 when I transferred to Baton Rouge with Albertsons. He was one of the first persons to introduced himself to me as I entered the store that morning. He made me feel so welcomed. Elmo would do anything that was asked of him without hesitation. Elmo was very dedicated to Albertsons, his coworkers, and his friends. He loved to talk about his family. You could hear the pride in his voice as he discussed his grandchildren. Elmo used to talk about his glory days of playing softball and how much fun it was. We enjoyed playing golf together; he was pretty good at it. I will miss Elmo a lot. He was a wonderful friend.
May the Lord comfort and bless his family during this time of loss. Joshua 1:9

Elmo was so dedicated to Albertsons and would do anything that you asked him do. He was loyal to the company, his coworkers, and his friends. But he especially loved his family. You could hear the pride in his voice as he talked about his grandchildren. Many times Elmo discussed playing softball in Baton Rouge and how much fun it was. And we truly enjoyed golfing together. He was pretty good at it. Elmo was a wonderful friend of mine. He will be deeply missed.

I am going to miss you having coffee in the mornings. I used to kid him about being a ole Miss fan. I bought a Mississippi state cow bell and showed it to him one day. After being scolded I never did it again. Rest in peace Elmo I will never forget you.
