Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, La on Sunday, January 10, 2021 from 12:00pm until services at 2:00pm. Burial will follow in Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery.

James was a long-time resident of Denham Springs, La and was lovingly known through the years as Tiny, Heavy, Jake, Terry, and to his grandchildren, he was Mampaw. But most people called him J.T.

Before retiring in 1998, J.T. owned his own plumbing company, Carney Plumbing, for more than 30 years and served the Baton Rouge area. After retirement, he enjoyed taking road trips, visiting family and old friends, and sharing old stories with everyone he met. This was his favorite past-time.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Thomas Isaiah and Mae Bennett Carney, his wife Bobbie Jean Carney, his brothers, Claude, Henry, Clyde, T.C., Recey, Aldee, Leroy, and Edward Carney, and three sisters, Irene Carney, Alma Lee Robinson, and Elouise Lee, his grandson, Landon Carney, and a special friend, Alline Albin.

J.T. is  survived by his four children, Randy Carney, Vanessa Foret (Mike), Terry Carney (Cindy McClure), and Kimberly Bartlett (Hank Davidson), his seven grandchildren, Whitney Triplett, Kayleigh Triplett, Alyssa Triplett, Benjamin Carney, Ashlyn Carney, Lauren Bartlett, and Andrew Bartlett, and two great-grandchildren, Remi Anne Gehegan and Emery Sophia Ragusa, and many nieces and nephews.  Also, his faithful and loyal companion, Little Bit.

Vanessa, Terry and Kim would like to express gratitude to their oldest brother, Randy, who watched over their father daily for many years with patience, care, and love.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christ’s Community Church of Denham Springs, La., 2654 Juban  Rd, Denham Springs, La 70726.

We were not blessed to see Uncle JT very often, but when we were his visits were special. He was the family historian and ohhhh, could he tell a story! At his last visit , before Mama (Elouise) passed away, she had difficulty with her ability to verbalize. However, they held hands and exchanged precious smiles. Now their bodies are whole and they rejoicing in Heaven. Praise the Lord for precious memories. Love to all of the family.🙏💕❤️
