January 12, 2021by SealeUser34

March 22, 1961 ~ January 12, 2021

A resident of Pride, LA passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 59 years old. He proudly served his country in the US Army as Captain and Finance Officer in the 18th Airborne Corp. He was a CPA by trade but spent most of his career developing real estate properties and has spent the last 22 years managing Lake Sherwood Retirement Center in Baton Rouge. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Friday, January 15, 2021 from 8:00am until 10:00am. Due to Covid concerns and in order to ensure the safety of all those in attendance, it is requested that all guests wear a mask and condolences be kept brief so everyone can pay their respects.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Church for close family and friends only.

Neil is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carla Mayeux Juneau; his son, Brandon Neil Juneau and wife Brandy; his two daughters, Heather Gould and husband Tommy, and Megan Juneau; and six grandchildren, Gage, Mason, Paiton, Ava, Luke, and Lennon.  He is also survived by his four brothers, Mark (Mary), Mike (Judy), Stewart, and Ronnie (Arlene); his brother-in-law, Jim Lemoine (Jan); his four sisters, Carol Laborde (Tim), Teresa Juneau (Keith), Liz Marcotte (Joey) and Nancy Juneau; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jessie and Nettie Mayeux, sisters-in-law Pam Bonin and Michelle Guillot (Paul), and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Linus and Julia Juneau; and sister, Gayle Lemoine.

He was an active member of Immaculate Conception Church and former president of Baton Rouge Ancient Athletes Society.  He touched the lives of many through coaching and serving his community, but his biggest accomplishment in life was his family.  He spent most of his time on his farm, also known as his paradise, enjoying the outdoors, working in his barn and taking care of his dogs, horses and cattle.  He never missed an opportunity to love on his wife, children and grandchildren and was always there to cheer everyone on in whatever they were doing.  He will be missed by everyone that knew him.

I am so sad. I worked for Neil at Lake Sherwood Village. He brought so much fun, love and enthusiasm to the home. I call it the home because it is the seniors home. Neil treated each and every resident as though they were his grandparent, parent, aunt, uncle, brother or sister. He truly wore his heart on his sleeve also serving as a surrogate love one giving comfort and an hear where ever it was needed. If we could only emulate a fraction of your love and compassion all will be truly blessed. Lovingly, Carole Reulet

Our hearts and prayers go out to the family and friends in Neil’s passing. Over 11 years ago Neil opened his Retirement Village for hosting our Red Stick Kiwanis Club’s Friday weekly meetings. We are so grateful to have had this opportunity to get to know Neil, his staff, and many of the residents at his Retirement Village. So many kids in our community have benefited from Neil’s generosity in supporting our fund -raisers. He understood that we were a club to help kids, and that of course was his passion in life, to help others. Members have come to know Neil over the years and will surely miss his smiling face roaming around and saying hello to many of us on Fridays. God speed our friend.

    Heather and family,

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your father. I remember him to be such sweet and jovial man. In college, a small group of us were having dinner at Chili’s. He recognized us as friends of Heather from across the restaurant and paid for our meal.

I pray that God will comfort you and your entire family. May He also give you strength during this difficult time.

Heartfelt sympathy to the Juneau family. I have fond memories of Neil at the CBP YMCA. He was in my group ex class ( working out beside his daughter) and added much energy and encouragement to everyone… And lots of laughs, too! So grateful to have crossed paths with him.

Neil was such a wonderful person. lake Sherwood Village has lost a great leader. He always made my min feel special and always spoke to everyone. I feel his vision for lake Sherwood as a family business set it apart from all the chains of retirement places in Baton Rouge. He worked hard to keep everyone there safe during This pandemic. I. Ant believer he is gone. We send our deepest sympathies to his family and the staff residents at LSV as he will be deeply missed.

Got a text the other mornings that absolutely stopped me in my tracks. Me. Neil was an awesome person, who always greeted you and mess with you every chance he got. You never doubted where you stood and you knew he would have your back it you needed it. I hadn’t seen him lately but the loss still stings. In high school and college a million funny stories come to mind but also help illustrate the type of guy he was.

To my buddy Brandon, Megan, Heather and their families along with Mrs. Carla our heart goes out to you and you will be in our prayers. Love y’all.
