Howard owned several NHRA records that stood for years. They also had a passion for street rods and were co-founders of the Ramblin Oldies of Denham Springs pre-49 Car Club.  They enjoyed street rods from their early days in Big Spring as members of the Early Cars of Big Spring and continued that passion through their final days.  A joint celebration of life will be held Sunday February 21 at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs.  Visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a service to begin at 2:00 p.m.  The service will be conducted by their beloved nephew Johnny McChristian.  The funeral home is asking that masks be worn by all in attendance.  Burial in Evergreen Memorial Park in Denham Springs.  Hauna & Howard are survived by sons, Jimmy Howard McChristian and fiancé’ Marian Eades, Jerry Jeff McChristian, Jason Lloyd and wife Monic McChristian and Justin Cates and wife Suzanne McChristian; daughter, Johauna Leann and husband Donald Lege’; grandchildren, Katrina and husband Ryan Jenny, Kelli Miller, Kevin and wife Britany McChristian, Cherie and husband Jay Burks, Ben McChristian, Jarmen McChristian & Sydney Comeaux, Kayren McChristian and fiancé’ Garan Lentz, Josh and wife Ashleigh Edwards, Brandi Edwards & Jordan Snyder, Brady and wife Brooke McChristian, Blake and wife Nicki McChristian, Jeff and wife Brooke Lege’, Shauna Lege’ & Eric Dorman and Catherine Lege’; great-grandchildren, Dawson and Dalton Albin, Brianna Miller, Caydence, Cayleigh, and Caroline McChristian, Tori Carradine, Peyton Burks, Liam McChristian, Ella Parrozzo, Rosalee Lentz, Hadleigh and Cooper Edwards, Mitch, Hosea and Landon Sonnier and numerous nieces & nephews. They were a wonderful example and a blessing to anyone who got the opportunity to spend time with them. You will be well remembered Aunt Hauna and Uncle Howard. And I cherish the thought of the two of you sitting around a table again with my Hannie and Pa.

My parents were next door neighbors to Hauna and Howard for 32 years. They moved to Denham Springs in February 1977. Shortly after moving there my parents Jimmie and Verna Mae met the McChristians and were very pleased to have such good neighbors. Their situation was very similar to the lives of Hauna and Howard. My parents died 3 days apart in 2008, my mother at Harvest Manor on February 29 (where Hauna passed) and my father at Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge on March 3rd. Mr Howard also died at a hospital in Baton Rouge (Baton Rouge General). The McChristians being the good neighbors they were hosted our family after the double funeral services for my parents to a wonder spread of food at their home. They were neighbors in life, and now are neighbors in the afterlife, all four of them now residing in Evergreen Memorial Park. They can once again visit next door and have coffee together. The Keel family sends out their condolences.

Gary, thank you so much for your comments. Yes, mom and pop LOVED Mr. Jimmie and Mrs. Verna and they absolutely loved being neighbors for all of those years and guess what….when we were talking to pop about where they wanted to be in Evergreen he said “well, we were next door to Jimmie and Verna for all of those years, I’d like to be next door at Evergreen”. We checked it out and we couldn’t get next to them, so they will be laid to rest directly across the street from them. When I told pop that we got directly across the street, he said “perfect”.

They are even neighbors in the cemetery. We purposely got them near your mom & dad. (They are right across the street)

Like a recording in My head, I hear her greeting me with “Come see your Aunt Hauna”. I will keep replaying it until the day she greets me in Heaven with these words. And there beside her will be My Uncle Howard – her silent, side kick who delivers My Denham Springs antique store find all the way to League City – I think along with the purse I forgot.

My heart hurts double – I will miss them both and miss the opportunity to hug their babies during this celebration of life.

    Lots of love,

What a great couple who raised some fine young men and one woman. I Remember when y’all arrived from Big Spring and when Big Jim enrolled at DSHS. Got to know the family early on and had a ton of respect for them throughout the years. I also Taught and coached a grandson (Brady) at DSHS.
Y’all’s parents were special people and will be dearly missed. Continued prayers for peace sent up 🙏🏻🙏🏻
