Paul was my stepdad for the past 18 years. He was just an amazing person. He and I had so many talks about LSU football and its players. I don’t ever think he knew I didn’t know one thing about what he was talking about, because I just kept paying attention to him and agreeing with whatever it was he was saying, and making some kind of comments and just praying whatever came out of my mouth made sense LOL. But our conversations about football kept on and on for the longest time and I made the best of it. I felt like I was his “go to” when it came to talking football at the house – my mom surely wasn’t going to have these types of conversations with him…..LOL. Now, I miss just listening to him talk about the players, the coaches, how the team looks on the field, the plays that were offsides or the interceptions that were thrown, how they are looking good on defense, or how the coach needs to get the team to play! I miss seeing my dog Rascal (who passed in September 2020) licking on his neck when we visited. I’m sure that Missy, Rascal and Paul are all together being happy and Rascal is just licking away at Paul’s neck. That vision makes me smile for sure. There are so many happy memories with Paul. I’d write a novel if I were to share every single one of them. All I can say is that Paul accepted me and my two sisters, Karen and Holly with open arms – no questions asked – from day one. He loved us unconditionally as we did him. Paul will be missed tremendously. It’s just sinking in that he isn’t here anymore for me. Paul, be blessed in Heaven and love on our furbabies Missy and Rascal. Take care up there and watch over Mom as her Guardian Angel. Love you always! Jill

      Dear Stevenson Family:
Daughters Donna, Kathy, Amanda, son Mark and all others: a note to let you all know Kelley and I are sad to hear about void you will all experience with loss of Mr. Paul, but know he is free of illness and earthly trappings and in a glorious place. Kelley and family have moved to Mansfield, Texas and her dad and I are sad. I was unable to attend service on my own, but wanted you all to know we still love you all and appreciate all
your parents did for us when Kelley stayed with y’all after school and all the dance recitals and loving care by Paul and Betsy.
If you want to see Kelley beam, just mention
Mr. Paul’s chocolate pie! So sorry we could not be there to SEE you all, but we will always love all of you.
Please take care of each other.

Donna, I am so very sorry for your great loss! Paul and you became much more than just neighbors to us. Bobby always loved talking “plant work” and stories with Paul.
He was a genuinely very nice man.
And we always felt so privileged to live next door to you both. You and your family will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers in the coming days & months ahead.

Sorry to see a Harris cousin gone too soon. Paul and his brother, Pete, were two of my (Harris-blooded) Stevenson cousins I kept re-meeting at the reunions. Will be especially missed at the next reunion.

My sympathies and prayers for peace to family, friends, and cousins left behind to carry on.

    Donna and family,
I am deeply saddened by Paul’s passing. He will be greatly missed by all of us, and especially by myself & other members of the Romeo Club. Paul & I were among the 60 Plastic Technicians hired to startup and run BRPP in 1968. I have many fond memories working with Paul over those years at BRPP.
May God Bless and keep your family in his loving hands,
    Sincerely
    Darrell Serrett

    Donna and family,
May our Lord comfort all of you at this difficult time of Paul’s passing into his heavenly home.
I am one of those who worked with Paul at BRPP in its formative years. I and others respected and valued Paul very highly for not only his technical and operational knowledge; but more importantly for how he set an example of effectively and compassionately interacting with others. Personally, I learned a lot from Paul throughout my years at BRPP…

Paul (aka “Hud” just like Cool Hand Luke) was one of the good guys. He taught me a lot. Mostly about being patient. He knew that plant (BRPP) like the back of his hand and groomed us to do the same. I will miss my brother.

I too worked with Paul, some called him Hud, at BRPP for many years. He was a calm, knowledgeable, ethical man who always had a smile on his face. When the plant was in chaos, Paul would evaluate the situation, tug on his sideburn, and give instructions that put everything back in order. My prayers are with you the next weeks and months as you morn the loss of a great man. May the Lord comfort you as only He can. Revelation 21:1-7.
    Sincerely,

So sorry for your loss Donna. Paul will be missed at our weekly ROMEO luncheons. He always kept us up to date on what was happening at LSU. And each week the group would solve all the world problems. Worked with him a long time and it really hurts that he has passed on to be in a higher place. God Bless him, you and your/his family. My prayers are with each of you. Butch Hays

My name is Mannie Hardy. I worked with Paul 20 plus years at the Plastics Plant. My deepest sympathies to the family. Paul was a ledgend at BPPP. It was said that while working his shift it never rained on him. I thought it was a fairytale until I witness it myself. It was raining and a problem came up in the Compressor house. He geared up in his rain suit and headed out when he stepped from under the awning it stopped Raining when got into the compressor house it started back. It was unbelievably! When the shift ended, it was raining he stepped out to go to his car it stopped when he got into his car it started back amazing. He will be missed but etched in our memories.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences for your loss. I am so sad to hear the news that Paul has left us. Paul and I worked together in the QC Lab and Poly Units at the BRPP during the 1980s. Paul was one of the most respected people in the BRPP organization. He will be missed.
