Vernie Robertson Ratcliff, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed peacefully into the hands of the God she so loved and worshiped on Feb 26, 2021.  Vernie was born to Robert and Lena Robertson on July 23, 1932. She married the love of her life, Rudolph Ratcliff, in January of 1948, who preceded her in death in 2009. Vernie attended French Settlement High School and was retired from the Louisiana State Police where she worked as a computer operator. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, and she loved her church family and valued their love and fellowship. Vernie is survived by her children, Pamela and Dennis Ballinger, Cynthia and Emmett Slack and Sylvia and Doug Drummond; her grandchildren, Christopher and Jackie Dyess, Heath and Dina Slack, Scott Dyess, Amanda Dyess, Tara and Jeff McNabb, Jason and Jamie Dyess, Jeremy and Carrie Slack, Seth Morel, Skylar and Zane Wheeler, Doran and Aimee Drummond and Karrah and Russ Noles; her great grandchildren, Alyssa and Peyton Harriss, Jacob Slack, Olivia Slack, Noah McNabb, Elizabeth Dyess, Grey Slack, Evan McNabb, Carley Slack, Ivy Slack, Brandt Slack, Troy Dyess, William Dyess, Graham Slack, Brady Drummond, Samuel Dyess, Spencer Noles, Driver Drummond, Davis Noles, Henry Wheeler and Emilia Dyess; her great great grandchildren Ira Harriss and Joseph Harriss; and sister Voris McDonald and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Orvil Jackson, her brother Mack Robertson and her beautiful and loving daughter Sharon Ratcliff Morel.  Visitation will be from 10:00 to 12:00 PM on Monday, March 1, 2021 at Pine Grove Baptist Church, Livingston, Louisiana.  A service of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM, with burial at the church cemetery.

    Pam, Cindy and Sylvia, I was saddened to hear of Ms Vernie’s passing. I know she is with Mr Rudy and Sharon. I have many great memories of times spent with your parents and all of you. Please know that all of you and your families are in my thoughts and prayers.

    Pam, Cindy, and Sylvia so sorry to hear of Vernie’s passing ; but she passed to her eternal home with Jesus and the love of her life, Rudy… Clarence and Rudy were probably hanging out together so maybe she greeted him also.. lol
    Many many fond memories I have of good times with both your parents..
    May you feel God’s love and peace as you travel this journey..
