Samuel Joseph Bissett was born May 17, 1945 in Pointe Coupee Hospital to Verna Berthelot and Samuel Bissett. He graduated from Morganza High School. He served his country and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He retired from George Pacific with 27 years of service. He is survived by his daughters, Carly Bissett, Pharaby (John) Hutton; grandson, Mason Bissett; granddaughter, Sara Hutton; sisters, Patsy Ann Porché, Jean Marie Bissett and partner Carl Dwayne Grimmir, Cristal Ann Miller (Marsha White); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Bissett; mother, Verna Berthelot Bissett; grandson, Dylan Clay Bissett; brothers-in-law, Walter Porché and Dale Miller. A graveside service will be held at Feliciana Rest Cemetery, Slaughter, LA, Wednesday, April 7, at 2 p.m. Pallbearers will be Michael Todd Purpera, Jay Purpera, D.J.     So sorry for the loss of Sam.
    Sam was a good friend and coworker for the 27 years we were at GP together.
    Sam always greeted us with Hey Babe ! I got this. He was always there and did a great job. When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure. May your memories give your heart,mind and soul Pease and comfort .
