July 11, 1957 ~ May 14, 2021

Stephen Eugene Hartzog passed away Friday, May 14th at his home after losing a battle to lung cancer. He was a carpenter by trade but could do pretty much anything he set his mind too. He dealt with many trials and tribulations in his life, but somehow always managed to find the good in each situation. He was a strong willed yet humble man. Just as hard as he lived, he loved. Though his time here was cut short, his memory will last a lifetime.  He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew him. He is survived by His children; Joshua Hartzog, Shannon Hartzog and Margaret Danielle Hartzog. Grandchildren: Ciera Hartzog, Tayvion Lilly, Brayson Hartzog, Devin Reis, Maddie Reis, Grace Gilbert and Bryce Gilbert as well as his niece, nephews and other relative. He was preceded in death by his father, Elvis Eljaun Hartzog; Mother, Margaret Williams: and sister, Susan Hartzog. The family will hold a private celebration of his life at a later date. Though I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Stephen, I have known his daughter Danielle (Margaret) for a few years. The character, love, honesty, kindness, godliness and respect that Danielle possesses speaks VOLUMES about her father and the way she was raised. Though Mr. Stephen’s life was cut short, he touched many. I will continue to pray for the family, and I am deeply sorry for you guys loss. May God grant you all peace and understanding in this trying time.

I only knew him for a short period of time, but I know that he loved his family more than anything and fought hard to the very end. He will be missed greatly. Saying prayers for his amazing family. Love you all!

My sweet, kind hearted Uncle! You will be missed dearly. Uncle Steve would always be there to help me if I called him no matter what the situation was. I know he is in heaven with Grandma, and Mom. They were always together, and now they will be there together forever. R.I.P. Uncle Steve.
    I love you,
    Rebecca

Didn’t get to know him very well but seemed like a really good man.
