David Kress, 28, of Gonzales, LA passed away on May 5th, 2021 in Gonzales. David was born in Las Vegas, NV on August 17, 1992 to William Thomas Kress of Pittsburg, PA and the late Jenine Martin Kress of Lafayette, LA. He was a graduate of Shaler Area High School, class of 2012. David enlisted in the US Navy on March 19,2014 and received an honorable discharge on March 6, 2018. Upon release from the Navy, David was employed by Ingersoll Rand of Dallas, TX. He was assigned to Abilene, Texas, transferring to Gonzales, Louisiana in December of 2018, where he was contracted to work at Nucor Steel. David lived in Gonzales as a toddler. David’s great uncle Joe Pitre, his wife Kady and sons Adam and Shane and wife Mera and their girls resided in this area. It was not long before he quickly became part of a family he never knew. David is survived by his father, William Kress, twin brother Johnathan Kress, sister Brittany Kress, and niece Vanessa, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his grandmother Dottie Michaud, a sister, Shauntell Martin Journet of Lafayette, Louisiana, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins of the Lafayette area. There will be a celebration of his life Saturday, June 19, 2021 at The Venue, 13475 Hwy 431, Gonzales, LA 70737, at 10 a.m. with Naval Honors rendered followed by service and a gathering of family and friends for a meal and to continue to celebrate David’s life.
