Mr. Karl was & will remain dear to my heart. I was 23 when I met him. I like to tell the story of the first night he hosted us in his home. He made shrimp etoufee for us that night, first time to try it. I woke up the next morning, looking for it so I could eat it for breakfast, too. When I shut the fridge door, there he was, grinning to see I came back for it. His sense of humor, his stories of family & his experiences, his commitment to stay in touch, his presence when I married out of the family, and every visit in between…I loved this man & I am extremely blessed to have known him & to be loved in return by him.

You are the best Karl. Amazing stepdad on earth. You were so fun to be around. Love you so much, say hey to my daddy. Y’all are going to turn heaven upside down and sideways. Prayers to my mom and to us the family. Karl was just , I don’t know what to say, to much to say. The people who knew you knows how I feel and what I mean. Rest In Peace. No more cancer to fight for you.
