June 17, 2021by SealeUser24

November 20, 2002 ~ June 15, 2021

Skylar Leigh Hall, born November 20, 2002, went to Heaven on June 15, 2021 after her fearless battle with multiple health conditions.  Skylar leaves behind her mother Lori Blount, stepfather Johnny Blount, sisters Hayleigh, Kayla and Stephanie who will greatly miss her.  Grandparents Pops (Charles Hall), Gary and Josie Blount, Aunt Nattley Morien, Uncle Josh Smith ( Brittany). And numerous other family members. She is proceeded in death by Grandmother Honey (Karen Hall), Great- Grandmother Angy (Mary Jackson).

Despite Skylar’s many years in the hospital she always courageously dealt with everything with a bright smile on her face.  Skylar affectionately gave a thumbs up to the amazing medical teams over the years, as they worked so tirelessly to heal her. Sky had an infectious laugh and very loving compassion. Her love for babies was known to everyone, especially baby Issac. She loved attending church and worshiping God with her family. Sky blessed so many lives and hearts over her short life. Sky enjoyed taking rides, traveling, and spending precious time with family and friends.

The bonds forged over the years has forever made an impact. Our family wants to extend our greatest appreciation and love to everyone that dedicated themselves to our family through the many long days and nights.  Special thanks goes out to Dr. Murli Rao, Dr. Alberty, Dr. Michael Bolten, Dr. Uzodi, Dr. Kenneth Paris, Dr. Stephen Deputy, Dr. Aljomah, Dr, Andres Carrion, Nurse Marianne, Nurse Brandon, Nurse Clarissa, Staff at Southeast Pediatrics, The PICU staff and surgery floor at Children’s OLOL, and our phenomenal Children’s Hospitalists along with the  PA’s and the residents that were part of Sky’s team, Nurses at Pediatric Health Choice center.

A special thanks to the support of Hospice of Baton Rouge. We could not have asked for a more compassionate and caring team than the one we had to help us  through the most difficult time imagined. Nurse Charlie Potts will forever be our angel who went above and beyond expectations. Roxie and her competitor Denise brought laughter in our home. Cabrina treated our Sky as her own. You all will forever be part of our family.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. -Psalms 23:4

Pallbearers are Joshua Corey Sr., Joshua Corey Jr., Steve Elsenrath, Mark Zalfen, Matthew Girlinghouse, Gary McDonald. Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. John Alberty, Dr. James Robert Upp Jr., dr. Kenneth Paris, Dr. Stephen Deputy, Dr. Michael Bolton, Dr. Murli Rao, and Jeramiah Corey

Services will be conducted by Bishop Robert Martin and Pastor Brendan Hannington (Lifepoint) on June 19, 2021 at Hope Central 14754 Frenchtown Greenwell Springs, Louisiana 70739; Visitation will be 10-12 until service at 12. We all loved you so much, Sky. I was so honored to share the past months with you and your family. You were so strong, so amazing and so courageous. Helping take care of you was a bonus; your gift to us. Lori, Kayla, Stephanie and Hayleigh, you all have been amazing! Lori, I know this has been difficult for you, but you are an AMAZING mother. Not only were you an amazing morning to Skyler, you continue to be an amazing mother to Kayla, Stephanie and Hayleigh; keep going! Kayla, I have watched over the past several months the wonderful care you have provided to your sisters. You were so attentive and patient with Sky. Having a sister is like having a best friend you can’t get rid of. You know whatever you do, they’ll still be there, and in your heart she will always remain. Hold on to those memories and allow this experience to evolve your success. Thank you, Lori, for choosing US! All of us at The Hospice of Baton Rouge who were blessed to witness Skyler’s beautiful and infectious spirit will cherish our time with her always. Skyler, taking care of you was a blessing, losing you is hard, but knowing you are now smiling, happy and free from this world brings us an undeniable joy. You will forever remain in our hearts. Sky’s the limit!!

    My Dear Sky,
Seems like I have known you since Day 1. You have always had a place in my heart in more ways than one since I met your family 18 years ago. 1st that I was able to take care of your Mom with meds and 2nd that your birthday was only a day after mine (although many years apart). I have seen you grow, play, hurt, laugh, cry, suffer and you still seemed to ALWAYS BE HAPPY AND NEVER COMPLAIN. You are my hero and I also have another guardian angel in heaven. RIP Baby Girl and suffer no more. Love and miss you always ❤❤ Love, Aunt Dana/Mawmaw Dana

Those cherished memories of Sky in Sunday School and at the altar praying with Delanna are forever etched in my mind. Sky is one of my kids, such a fighter and such an angel. She always carried a calm and comfort anywhere she went. That precious little smile and sometimes a giggle were always enough to make the day bright again.

God extended her lease on life a few years back because he knew we all needed just a bit more time with her. While the time is always too short, it was a blessing to all of us that Sky was in our life. She is now our Sky Angel.

Prayers and love to the entire family.
