Raymond Curtis Bourgeois, Sr. passed away August 20, 2021 at the age of 88. He was born October 2, 1932 in Labadieville, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents Scuddy Bourgeois, Carrie Mae Boudreaux Bourgeois, Step-mother Ella Delaune Bourgeois, first wife Barbara Browning Bourgeois and Brother Bobby David. He is survived by his wife Shirley Prothro Bourgeois, sisters, Betty David (Elmo) Falgout and Ellen Bourgeois Ledet, Sister-In-Law Elsie David, Sons Ray, Kirby (Jenny), James (Annette) Bourgeois, Daughters, Susan (Todd) Joffrion, Carrie (Damon) Onellion, stepson Danny (Teri) Poole, stepdaughter Toni Weatherman and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He served in the Army during the Korean War and graduated from LSU with a bachelor’s degree. He was an avid gardener and was always proud of his Cajun Heritage. He spent many years as a leader with the Boy Scouts. Visitation will be at Bethel Methodist Church, 17022 Liberty Road, Pride, Louisiana on Saturday August 28th beginning at 5:00 PM followed by a memorial service at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethel Methodist Church, PO Box 505, Greenwell Springs, LA 70739-0505. Mask required at service.
