Donnie Moutz, age 74, died on October 4th, 2021, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was born in Winterhaven, Florida in 1947.

Donnie served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge he worked at Chenevert Architecture and was the Commodore of the Baton Rouge Boat Club. Donnie loved boating and enjoyed helping others.

He is survived by his wife Gail Moutz; his sister Marti Bryant; his daughter Kristina Cusick; his sons Donald Moutz II, Michael Vaughan, Chad Vaughan, Joey Vaughan, Scott Vaughan; his grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Madora Michell and Willis Benton Moutz; brother Michael Moutz.

    Don and I worked together at Dawson Engineers during the 1980s. He was a well-respected and diligent professional worker and manager. My condolences to Gail, his family, and his friends.

    DONNIE WAS ONE OF MY BEST FRIENDS. IN HIGH SCHOOL WE PLAYED TOGETHER IN A ROCK N ROLL BAND (THE IMPROMTUS). DONNIE WAS A TERRIFIC DRUMMER,WELL KNOWN FOR HIS VERSION OF “WIPE-OUT”! HE WAS PROBABLY THE BEST WATER-SKIER I EVER SAW! HE TAUGHT ME BUT I DID’NT HAVE HIS TALENT. GOTTA THOUSAND GOOD MEMORIES! HILDA & I WILL MISS HIM DEARLY. GOODBYE MY FRIEND!
